After twenty-odd years shaping travel across Africa, I started The Tailored Compass to do it the way I always believed it should be done  closely, thoughtfully, one traveller at a time.

I've stayed in the camps I put forward, walked the paths, and worked out which places live up to their word and which don't. Yet the part people hold onto is rarely the arrangements. It's the care.

I pay attention to what you tell me, and to what you almost tell me. From there a journey emerges that feels understood rather than assembled.
